Check whether a PDF was changed, and where.
A bank statement for a rental, an invoice from a supplier, a contract that comes back signed. Open it in Keepsign, tap What changed?, and see the file’s history with the proof for each finding.

▲Saved again after a signature
Ana Ruiz’s signature covers the file up to save 2. After that it was saved once more and page 3 changed: 30 → 14.
Original · Word for Mac · Mar 1
Save 2 · signed by Ana Ruiz · Mar 2
Save 3 · another program · Mar 4 · p. 3 thirty (30) → fourteen (14)
▲This figure uses a different font from its column
Page 1: “1,250.00” is set in another font than the rest of the column.
Show on page 1Keepsign shows what the file contains and where. It doesn’t say whether a document is genuine.
Every trace an edit leaves in the file.
PDF editors leave fingerprints: extra saves, new fonts, shapes painted over text. Keepsign reads the file the way it’s drawn and points to each one.
Every save, in order
Each incremental save with its program and date, who signed in it, and what changed from the one before: pages, fields, notes, signatures, metadata.
Word-for-word changes
If text changed after someone signed, you see the words: “30” → “14”. This finding always comes first.
Numbers that don’t match their neighbours
A figure in a different font from its column, a second copy of the same font, or the digits of one number split across two fonts.
Text under text, or under a box
A white box over a number, a black bar that hides but doesn’t remove, or new text placed over old text.
What you can’t see on screen
Hidden layers, invisible text that isn’t a scan’s OCR, text outside the page, white on white.
Programs and dates that disagree
A file “changed” before it was created, dates in the future, or two programs claiming to have made it.
No verdicts. Evidence.
Keepsign never says “fake” or “fraud”. It says what is in the file and shows you where, with a button that takes you to the spot on the page.
If the file has a single version, it says exactly that: no changes were saved on top of the original. That doesn’t prove nobody touched it, because a document recreated from scratch leaves no history. You get the limits along with the findings.
Everything runs on your device. The document isn’t uploaded anywhere, and you can export the report as text.
Questions
How can I tell if a PDF was edited?
Look for more than one saved version, changes after a signature, fonts that don’t match, shapes covering text and metadata that disagrees. Our guide How to check if a PDF was edited shows how to do each check by hand, with free tools, and what each sign does and doesn’t prove.
Does it need Apple Intelligence?
No. What changed? uses rules on the file’s structure and works on every supported iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Can it compare two versions I already have?
Yes. Compare puts two PDFs side by side and marks every word that changed; the contract review explains each clause that moved, for example “the deadline goes from 30 days to 14 days”.
